FAQ - Mkono Events


I would just like to have an initial consultation before we sign and pay deposits.
Is this possible?

The very first meeting of 30 minutes is free of charge however should I be required to travel further than 30km from Blouberg for this meeting, a travel fee will be incurred. We get so excited to hear all about your dream and vision for your big day so these meetings get us very excited! 

Should I decide to book your services, how many meetings will be required for the planning process and how would we stay in touch? 

You will have a limited number of in person meetings however, zoom meetings, scheduled calls and emails are unlimited and we will stay in touch as frequently as is necessary. Please note: All meetings can only take place from Mondays – Thursdays. 

My venue already has a coordinator, would I still need a planner?

Venue coordinators are there on the venue’s behalf to ensure the event runs smoothly at their establishment. While the venue coordinator will be happy to assist in sourcing some suppliers, they will not help you to design, plan, book or pay any suppliers for your wedding day. A wedding planner is an external resource that acts on your behalf in all aspects of your day. Mkono will work alongside the venue resources and your external suppliers to ensure your day is a success.

What other services do you offer?

We offer services for elopements and micro weddings, at home celebrations as well as all corporate function requirements from conferences and exhibitions to networking events. We also have a selection of wedding guides for couples that want to plan their own wedding but need a little direction. Go and check out our SHOP to browse our guides and other goods to purchase.

Do you travel outside of Cape Town to deliver weddings and functions?

We would be delighted to plan your event at another location. With over a decade of European experience, we have incredible knowledge on how to plan a complex function remotely. Get in touch for a bespoke quote! 

I do not live in South Africa, can I still use your services?

Of course! As mentioned, remote planning is our strength and we would love to chat to you via zoom to understand your requirements. International guests flock to South Africa for their function and wedding requirements and we would be delighted to showcase our little slice of heaven to you and your guests

How do we secure your services?

A 50% payment upfront and a signed contract is required to book your date and our services. The remaining invoice (with additional itemized fees if required) will be due for payment 14 working days before your event.
